How to record a remote interview

You do not need any software, and neither does your guest. You record in the browser, each person is captured on their own track, and there is nothing to sync by hand afterward.

The PodManager recording studio with a guest joined on a separate track

    Before you start

    • Use a recent Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browser, and a wired headset if you have one.
    • Multi-track recording with separate guest tracks is part of the Studio plan and above.
    1. 1

      Open the recording studio

From your dashboard, open the Studio and create a new session for your episode.

    2. 2

      Check your microphone and camera

Pick your microphone, speakers, and camera, and watch the level meter to confirm your voice is coming through.

    3. 3

Invite your guest with a link

Copy the invite link and send it to your guest. They open it in their browser and join the waiting room. No account or download is needed.

    4. 4

      Admit your guest and record

Let your guest in from the waiting room, confirm both levels look good, and press record. Each participant is recorded on a separate track.

    5. 5

      Stop and save

When you are done, stop the recording. The separate tracks upload automatically and appear in your episode, ready to edit.

    Tips

    • Ask your guest to use headphones. This prevents echo and keeps the tracks clean.
    • If an upload is interrupted, the studio can recover the session, so you rarely lose a take.

    Frequently asked questions

Does my guest need an account?
No. Your guest joins from the link in their browser. No sign-up and no install.
    Can I record video too?
Yes. Participants can share video alongside audio in the studio.
